1. During the use of wire rope, it shall be prevented from looping, twisting, bending or sticking sundries, and from friction with machinery or other sundries.

2. After the tower crane is installed (before use), the steel wire rope shall be lubricated and coated with graphite grease once. After that, the steel wire rope shall be lubricated according to "crane lubrication table".
3. The overall design of tower crane does not allow the steel wire rope to have an indefinite life, and it shall be scrapped in case of any of the following conditions:
A. the number of broken wires of wire rope 6 × 19-d (d wire rope diameter) exceeds 5 in 6D and 10 in 30d.
B. the number of broken wires of wire rope 6 × 37-d (diameter of D wire rope) is more than 10 in 6D and 19 in 30d.
C. the steel wire ropes shall be close together, even if the number of broken wires does not exceed 5 within 6D, they shall be scrapped.
D. although the wire rope is not broken, the wear of the wire rope reaches 40% of its diameter, or when the wire rope is 7% or more smaller than the nominal diameter, or the wire rope is obviously bent.
E. the steel wire rope loses its normal shape and produces deformities, such as wave, cage shaped distortion, rope strand extrusion, steel wire extrusion, local increase of rope diameter, kink, local decrease of rope diameter, partial flattening and bending.
F. when the diameter of steel wire rope is affected by special thermal force and the recognizable color appears on the outside.
